Rotonda a Mare

The Rotonda a Mare of Senigallia, the elegant building that dominates the famous Velvet Beach, is one of the symbols of the city and is home to exhibitions and conferences every year.

The history of the Senigallia Rotonda

The rotunda at Mare is the result of multiple troubles, projects and reconstructions that began in the Belle Epoque. The final project chosen for the construction of the Rotonda a Mare, inaugurated on 18 July 1933, was that of the engineer Enrico Cardelli.

The fascinating and elegant building soon became a place of worldliness and musical entertainment in fact in its halls, between the fifties and the sixties, some of the most beautiful voices of Italian pop music performed. After a period of closure due to restructuring, the Rotonda was reopened in 2006 and can now be visited.

The Rotonda a Mare of Senigallia is, today, an extremely important place for the Senigallians since on one side it is a place of meeting and entertainment, on the other a symbol of the artistic and cultural life of the city.
