The Rocca Roveresca is one of the main monuments to visit in Senigallia.
The construction work of the town fortification was entrusted to the famous architects Federico da Montefeltro, Luciano Laurana and Baccio Pontelli. The imposing fortress, with the four ramparts of the fifteenth century, was not only a fortress, but also a noble residence before and then a pontifical prison and orphanage. Visiting the Rocca di Senigallia is like leafing through the pages of a history book because, inside it, not only is it still possible to find traces of the different uses it has had, but it is also possible to admire the numerous reform and enlargement interventions that took place in over the centuries.
